Contrary to popular opinion, knots are not the most important thing in the eastern schools of rope bondage, where “wrap & tuck” may take their place. They are a bit more critical in western styles, but their importance is easily over-rated.

Anyway, you don’t need to know more than a small handful of knots to be able to cope with very advanced ropework. Some people like knots and enjoy elaborating their ropework with fancy ones, but it is not necessary
